With its latest newsfeed update, Facebook has named Meaningful Interactions as the most important currency for increasing reach. The idea behind this is that it is no longer so important how many people are simply reached, but how many people react to the post – in other words, how many people carry out an important interaction.

What exactly are meaningful interactions now?

Facebook defines meaningful interactions as conversations between Facebook users. Something is posted and a user comments, discusses or shares the post.

The importance of the value of individual posts increases enormously as a result of this newsfeed change. It is no longer enough to simply post something to reach people on the platform. It’s about using images, videos and words to get people to interact in a valuable way.

“Meaningful interactions undoubtedly result in a revaluation of the comments.”

How do I get people to have meaningful interactions?

There is not just one way. The entire topic can be approached in many different ways. When planning your content, always ask yourself the question: Is this a topic that resonates and that the target group is discussing among themselves? Topics that are particularly hotly debated and topics that affect many people at the same time should be identified and played out.

A link that doesn’t look like a link. A form field that nobody needs. These details can make the difference between someone taking the bait – or clicking away in frustration.
