Organic enjoyment for all – this is the motto under which the Munich-based organic supermarket chain basic has been selling its full range of high-quality foods, exclusively in certified organic quality, in 17 shops in Germany and two more in Austria since 1997. However, this has never been enough for the company, which is why it has set itself the goal of significantly increasing the area of organically farmed land in Germany. In order to achieve this, basic wants to focus more on sustainable information and education in all future communications and has secured the support of the Munich-based digital specialists from schalk&friends. In the pitch, the team impressed with a clearly formulated strategy on how the brand can live and work in digital media in order to successfully advance this mission without being patronising or ideological.

The first project of the collaboration is the development and implementation of a social media strategy; in addition to concrete milestones, this will also involve a more detailed description of the specific target groups. This will be followed by the channels and the planned and coordinated individual measures. Above all, the basic guiding principle is to give ecological issues a firm place in people’s minds.

Michaela Gilg, Head of Corporate Communications at basic: “We are hoping to gain new impetus from the collaboration and therefore deliberately chose an agency outside the usual organic cosmos. schalk&friends particularly impressed us with its strategic expertise – we are looking forward to working on projects together.”
