Expertise pays off. Courage too: After schalk&friends dared to reorganise internally in mid-2023 with a focus on the core areas of Consult, Code and Create, the agency is now one of the top 70 in the current hit list of German digital agencies.

We have been Modern Marketing Makers since 2023 – and since 27 May 2024, we have also been ranked 65th among German internet agencies! This ranking from the German Digital Economy Association (BVDW) and the positive feedback from our clients, partners and colleagues are proof that our repositioning has struck a chord. In a tense overall economic situation, we offer a well thought-out, comprehensive service portfolio that has been specially tailored to medium-sized companies with its components Consult, Code and Create.

Matthias Bierich, Managing Director at schalk&friends, believes the time was ripe for an offer that picks people up:

“2023 was such an exciting year. AI, digital disruption and the volatile labour market have kept us and, above all, our customers busy for a long time. How can my technical infrastructure remain future-proof in the medium and long term? How can I conduct effective marketing, even with limited resources? How can I convince, attract and retain highly qualified employees? These are the questions that have preoccupied them. That’s why it was important to us to make our offering as effective, efficient and comprehensive as possible.”

Bierich played a key role in driving the Modern Marketing Makers project forward and bundled the agency’s services into a flexible, comprehensive digital marketing kit that is specifically designed for holistic digital concepts and brand communication.

Challenges? Opportunities!

A lot will change in 2025. Accessibility, for example, will become a mandatory requirement in Germany, including for websites. The deadline is 28 June. Bierich always sees every technological challenge as an opportunity – if you know what’s important:

“Being networked is more important than ever. Regardless of whether you work with external platforms or not, if you miss out on tidying up your own technical infrastructure, you will also miss the boat. Systems should build on each other optimally and fit in with the corporate strategy, only then can they realise their full potential.”

Too often, companies try to run marketing sporadically or patch up old IT infrastructures with modern patches. This may be cheaper in the short term, but the real costs are incurred in the long term. If you only treat the symptoms, you ignore the causes. To the internet agency ranking

The annual Internet Agency Ranking has been the industry barometer for German digital agencies since 2001. It is compiled by the German Digital Economy Association (BVDW) together with iBusiness, Horizont and Werben & Verkaufen. Over 140 internet agencies took part this year. With 65th place in the overall ranking, schalk&friends is once again one of the most successful digital agencies nationwide.
