The challenge

Find what fits faster! The perfect event with a sophisticated UX

Versatile requirements, one platform: relevant and tailored content for a wide range of needs.

The biggest UX and design challenge was to develop an intuitive structure for the multitude of categories and subcategories that is both user-friendly and SEO-performant. A central focus was on analyzing different user intentions – from targeted search to inspirational browsing – and integrating them seamlessly into the portal. Optimizing the search and filter functions was particularly important: The platform needed to deliver individually relevant content with minimal click effort and guide users quickly to the right event.

Understand, test, optimize – the path to perfect UX


Smart UX design does not happen by chance. It requires a strategy and an iterative process.

The path to the optimal user experience began with intensive learning. This meant close collaboration, in-depth analysis – and above all: workshops, workshops, workshops! This gave us a solid foundation. During development, the particular focus was then on target groups and detailed personas. A comprehensive benchmark analysis helped to identify best practices, while targeted UI/UX tests with a panel validated our assumptions – and gave us the flexibility to make adjustments where they were really needed. The project was truly a project of the heart! Of course, it helped that the entire Munich team are regular customers, including some heavy users.

Feedback from a participant from our usability testing when asked whether he would (like to) use the event portal:

“Yes, I would, because it seemed very promising and structured! In addition, you didn’t have the feeling that you had to search for a long time, but actually got the information you wanted quickly.”

Initial feedback from customers when asked whether they like using the event portal:

“Yes, I do, because all the information is well structured and presented in an entertaining way. I don’t have to search long to find my event and I get all the key data I need super quickly.”

Smart UX for an intuitive user journey

Flexible, clear, mobile – this is how modern UX design worksThe new UX design offers flexible access to the right event – via a targeted search, thematic interests, genres, dates or locations. A clear, well-thought-out structure enables intuitive navigation through the various categories, while the clearly arranged content ensures quick orientation. A modern design and the wide range of display options using teasers and sliders enable a varied and visually appealing presentation of the offer. All relevant information on events or concerts is easily accessible and users can quickly make an informed choice. The UX design focused on “mobile first” to ensure an optimal user experience on all end devices.
